Lesson Plans for October 5-9, 2015

Monday

Activities:  Students will finish assigned Ch. 4 worksheets from Friday.  If don’t finish in class, for homework.  Due by the first of class Tuesday.

Tuesday-

Topics:  Review of Ch. 4 material

Activities:  Ch. 4 worksheets due.  Exchange and grade.  After students receive back their graded reviews, we will have time to go over any questions students had over problems in review.

Wednesday-

Topics:  Review and reinforcement of Ch. 4 material

Activities:  Students will participate in a review game to help prepare them for tomorrow’s test.  Winner(s) of review game will receive 5 bonus points on their test grade. Test tomorrow over Ch. 4 material

Thursday-

Activities:  Ch. 4 Test-  Transactions that Affect Assets, Liabilities, and Owner’s Equity

Friday-

Topics:  Test results; objectives for next chapter

Activities:  Students will receive back their tests;  go over any questions/problems students had on test.  Students will then correct problems that were missed on notebook paper.  If student failed a test, they will be assigned a unit in Odysseyware or extra problems to do.  They will have the opportunity for one retake (after complete unit in Odysseyware or extra problems) to attempt to bring test grade up to a 70.

 

 

Lesson Plans for September 28-October 2, 2015

Monday-

Topics:  Accounts and the Double-entry Accounting system

Activities:  Students to take notes, participate, and then complete the section One Check your understanding on p. 77 in book and corresponding pages in workbook.

**QUIZ tomorrow over the rules of debit and credit for asset, liability, and owner’s equity accounts.  This will count as 2 daily grades.**

Tuesday-Wednesday

Topics:  Applying the rules of debit and credit

Activities:  Quiz over the rules of debit and credit.  Students to then take notes, participate, and then complete the Section two check your understanding on p. 83 in book and corresponding pages in workbook.

Thursday-Friday-

Topics:  Reinforcement of Ch. 4 material

Activities:  Students to work on review worksheets for Ch. 4 using their notes and book.  Complete worksheets will be due by the first of class Monday, October 5, 2015.

About Accounting I and II; Getting to know you activities

Tuesday-

Topics:  Discuss class procedures, acceptable use policies, school supplies, etc.

Activities:  Students will subscribe to class blog; test Google drive userids and passwords to see if can access

Homework:  Get classroom procedures signed by parent and parent subscribed to Accounting I blog by Friday, August  28 (Daily grade). Also, need to try and have school supplies by Tuesday, Sept. 1.

Wednesday-

Test userids/passwords; define the vocabulary for Ch 2 and turn in for a daily grade

Thursday-

Activities:  Students to take notes and participate in class discussion.

Welcome to Accounting I

Welcome to Accounting I!  In this class, students will be introduced to basic accounting concepts, the accounting cycle, how to prepare financial statements for a sole proprietorship, cash control and banking activities, and the accounting cycle for a merchandising business.
