Monday-

Topics:  Ch. 6 Test results

Activities: Students will receive back their graded tests; go over any questions or problems together. Students will then make corrections to missed test questions.  Due by the end of class.

Tuesday-

Topics:  Objectives for Ch. 7 (posting Journal Entries to General Ledger Accounts); Students to then become familiar with Ch. 7 vocabulary.

Activities:  Students to define the vocabulary for Ch. 7 using their book.  May write on notebook paper or type on computer.  Print and turn in for a daily grade when complete.

Wednesday-

Topics:  The General Ledger

Activities:  Students to take notes over new material, participate in discussion and practice problems, the complete the Ch. 7 Section 1 Check your understanding on p. 156 in book and corresponding page(s) in workbook. If don’t finish in class, for homework.  Due by the first of class Thursday.

Thursday-

Topics:  The Posting Process

Activities:  Students to take notes over new material, participate in discussion and practice problems, the complete the Ch. 7 Section 2 Check your understanding on p. 164 in book and corresponding page(s) in workbook. If don’t finish in class, for homework.  Due by the first of class Friday.

Friday-

Topics:  Preparing a Trial Balance

Activities:  Students to take notes over new material, participate in discussion and practice problems, the complete the Ch. 7 Section 3 Check your understanding on p. 170 in book and corresponding page(s) in workbook. If don’t finish in class, for homework.  Due by the first of class next Monday.

Activities:  Problem 6-8 due.  Exchange and grade Ch 6 worksheets.  After grading we will go over any questions and/or problems that students need to go over.

Thursday-

Review of Ch. 6 material (Accounting Cycle and Recording transactions in a journal)

Activities:  Students will participate in a review game to go over topics for test.  Winning team will receive 5 bonus points towards their test grade.

Friday-

Activities:  Ch. 6 Test (over Accounting Cycle & Recording transactions in a journal)

Activities:  Students to define the vocabulary for Ch. 6 on pp. 122 & 126 in their book.  May type in Google docs or write on a sheet of paper.  If completed on computer, will need to print out.

Activities:  Students to take notes, participate in practice problems, then complete the Ch. 5 Section 1 Check your understanding on p. 103 in textbook and corresponding page(s) in workbook.  Complete the 2 Thinking Critically questions, skip the communicating accounting, and complete problem 5-1.  If don’t finish in class, for homework.

Topics:  Applying the rules of debit and credit to revenue, expense, and owner’s equity transactions

Activities:  Students to take notes, participate in practice problems, then complete the Ch. 5 Section 2 Check your understanding on p. 109 in book and corresponding pages in workbook.  Complete the 2 Thinking Critically questions, skip the analyzing accounting, and do problem 5-2.  Due by the end of class Wednesday.
