Monday-

Objective-  Ch. 2 Section 2:  Accounting, the universal language of business

Activities:  Students to take notes, participate in class discussion, then complete the Ch. 2 Section 2 Check your understanding on p. 35 in book and corresponding pages in workbook.

Tuesday-

Objective:  Review of Ch. 2 material

Activities:  Students are to complete the Ch. 2 review sheets in workbook using their notes and textbook.  If don’t finish in class, for homework.

Wednesday-

Objective:  Test review

Activities:  Ch. 2 worksheets due.  Exchange and grade.  Students will then participate in Ch. 2 Test review by playing Jeopardy.  To play the Accounting Jeopardy review game online, you can go to http://jeopardylabs.com/play/accounting-jeopardy177.

Thursday-

Objective:  Test knowledge of Ch. 2 material

Activities:  Ch. 2 Test-  The world of business and accounting

Monday-

About Accounting I and II; Getting to know you activities

Tuesday-

Topics:  Discuss class procedures, acceptable use policies, school supplies, etc.

Activities:  Students will subscribe to class blog; test Google drive user ids and passwords to see if can access

Homework:  Get classroom procedures signed by parent and parent to subscribed to Accounting I blog by Friday, August 26 (Daily grade).  Also, need to try and have school supplies by Tuesday, August 30.

Wednesday-

Re-test userids/passwords for those who couldn’t get on yesterday; students will then define the vocabulary for Ch. 2 and turn in for a daily grade.

Thursday-

Topics:  The World of Business and Accounting

Activities:  Students to take notes and participate in class discussion.

Friday-

Homework due:  Receipt of classroom procedures signed by parent and parent subscribed to Accounting I blog due (Daily grade)

Welcome to Accounting I

Welcome to Accounting I!  In this class, students will be introduced to basic accounting concepts, the accounting cycle, how to prepare financial statements for a sole proprietorship, cash control and banking activities, and the accounting cycle for a merchandising business.

workbook (will be supplied)

Due by the first of class Tuesday.

Topics:  Payroll Accounting

Activities:  Students to complete the Ch. 12 worksheets as assigned.  Completed worksheets will be worth 2 daily grades and will be due next Monday, beginning of class.
